sTILL HAVE MORE QUESTIONS ABOUT ceramic coating?
- Using One PPF aftercare products when detailing your various surfaces will significantly extend the life of Ceramic Coating. Our products have been designed to complement our coatings and will help keep your surface looking newer, longer.
- For exterior cleaning, we recommend using One PPF Rinse Free Car Wash on a weekly basis, to avoid excessive contamination buildup. Avoid washing in direct sunlight to minimize streaking and water spotting.
- Wash from the roof downwards, leaving the dirtiest sections last, avoiding possible cross-contamination. You can follow up with One PPF Detail Spray and One PPF Ceramic Boost for added gloss.
- For interior cleaning, we recommend using One PPF Interior Cleaner (as needed) on your leather, plastics, and non-fabric surfaces. For fabric areas, we recommend vacuuming and using a clean, dry microfiber. We recommend testing in an inconspicuous area before applying One PPF Interior Cleaner – please read directions before applying.
- Always dry the exterior surfaces completely using a clean, soft, lint free microfiber towel or air blower. Never allow water to evaporate on its own. Tap water can contain minerals which leave deposits on your coating, creating unwanted water spots.
- For best results use One PPF Microfiber Towels, which have been designed to absorb water. Always avoid aggressive wiping.
- For exterior surfaces, follow washing and drying steps above. Follow up with One PPF Detail Spray for any left- over fingerprints or smudges on your paint protection film or surface. You can apply the One PPF Ceramic Boost (as needed) for added shine and slickness.
- Avoid applying One PPF Detail Spray in direct sunlight, to minimize streaking and water spotting.
- Never use aggressive products to polish the coating or to removing surface contamination.
- Visit your authorized XPEL FUSION PLUS installer for any questions you have on your coated surfaces.
- To uphold the One PPF warranty, you must visit your One PPF certified installer (who applied your original coating), annually, during the duration of warranty. If you have had a change of address, please email sales@vrdcustoms.com with any questions.
- One PPF is warrantied from date of original application (upon registration) and maintained in accordance with outlined warranty and conditions.
Are You Ready To protect your vehicle?
FAQ?
- While you can wax the film, be sure the product you are using doesn’t contain Naphtha or Kerosene in concentrations over 5%, and avoid waxes that contain dyes. For best results, we recommend using our One PPF Wrap Care Detail Spray. This product has been specially formulated for use with polyurethane paint protection films to provide the maximum protection and gloss, while containing no ingredients that would cause discoloration over time.
- Our ONE PPF Series Films are warrantied for 8 years. This warranty covers: yellowing, delaminating, cracking, peeling, bubbling, and more. More information on the warranty can be found on our Warranty Information page
- Yes. The process is the same as with regular paint: wet the surface with a lubricant such as One PPF Detail Spray or soapy water and then gently rub the surface with the clay bar. For stubborn insect, bird dropping, or hard water stains, use an all-purpose degreaser such as Simple Green as the lubricant for the detailing clay.
- No special maintenance is required for One PPF. However, the film will last longer and will be easier to clean if treated twice a year with One PPF Flawless Finish Paint Protection Film Sealant.
- Any of our films can be installed on Chrome, though the finish will look slightly different than if left unprotected. We recommend having your installer apply a small swatch to the desired surface so you can see what it looks like before deciding.
- One PPF is warrantied for 8 years against a range of issues including yellowing. More information about the warranty can be found on our Warranty Information page
- The clear coat is the self-healing layer and is approximately 13 microns thick. If that layer is penetrated, the film will not heal.
- Yes. Paint protection film can be applied to most smooth painted surface.
- Yes, but please wait at least 48 hours after installation to allow the film to dry completely.
- Yes, while One PPF can be installed on marine boats and watercraft, please review the warranty for applicable surfaces.
- It is highly unlikely for paint protection film to harm OEM paint. Paint systems used on modern assembly lines today produce a minimum bond strength of 16 MPa and maximum of 25 MPa between the panel and the paint depending on color, iridescence and the system used. Our film’s bond to the painted surface at normal state (immediately following installation) is .0753 MPa. Even after years of heat and sun, the bond between the film and the paint increases to only 0.17 MPa. What that means is in the absolute worst case scenario, the bond of factory paint to the panel is over 94 times stronger than the bond of our film to the paint. In the best case, the paint is 332 times stronger.
- That being said, it is still recommended to have a professional remove the film in accordance with our published guidelines.
Yes. One PPF film can be applied over a vinyl wrap or graphics. However, if there are any hard edges that film must cross (as in the case of stripes), it could result in some air being trapped along that edge.
- Yes, One PPF can be installed on your cars headlamps and fog lamps
- We recommend using the XPEL Rinse Free Car Wash, combined with the XPEL Detail Spray and Ceramic Boost for increased cleanliness and slickness
Yes. Though you can install the film over any quality of touch-up, the best possible appearance will be obtained if the touched up area has been color-sanded smooth and buffed after the application of the paint.
- Yes. XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS can be applied to any smooth surface, though care should be taken around any electronics and/or switches so that installation fluids aren’t allowed to get into sensitive areas.
- Yes, most factory paint is fully cured before the car ever leaves the assembly line.
- One PPF Film Cleaner is generally designed to remove dirt, grime and oils from paint protection film that lead to yellowing over time. To remove stains from other substances such as insects, bird droppings or other compounds, use acetone or lacquer thinner with a soft microfiber cloth.
- While the edge of the film can be seen from certain angles, people generally do not notice it unless they are looking for it. However, if the car is dirty and dust and dirt can collect along the edge of the film, it will be more noticeable. Once the car is cleaned, it will be once again difficult to detect unless looking for it.
- The self-healing clear coat of our One PPF is designed to repair itself from swirl marks and light scratches from car washes, etc. If a piece of debris has penetrated all the way through the clear coat on the film, it will not self-heal. The only way to fix this would be to have the piece of film replaced.
- Yes, Coatings can be applied to the films. Adding a coating does not stop the film from self-healing. Coatings can add a protective layer over the film, which depending on the coating can provide different properties (Please contact your installer or coating company for more information). That additional coating layer, depending on the coating applied, may or may not self-heal. Once the coating wears down and deteriorates, the self-healing qualities of One PPF will remain.

- As leading certified vinyl wrap installers, our experience in this industry has brought our paint protection installation to a whole new level. Not every shop installs or charges the same in this industry and understanding the type of installation your receiving, the total pieces on the vehicle that are getting protected and the quality control check-up’s we offer spanning the 10-year warranty allows your vehicles to continue to look good and stay protected without failures throughout it’s life.
- Gloss PPF provides a high-shine, reflective finish similar to that of a freshly painted surface. It tends to enhance the depth and richness of the vehicle’s color, giving it a glossy, showroom-like appearance.
- Satin PPF, on the other hand, offers a more muted, semi-gloss finish. It has a subtle sheen that reduces the level of reflection compared to gloss PPF, resulting in a smoother, less shiny appearance
- The choice between gloss and satin PPF ultimately comes down to personal preference and the desired aesthetic for the vehicle. Some owners prefer the bold, mirror-like finish of gloss PPF, while others prefer the understated elegance of satin PPF.
Change the finish and receive protection all in one!
- Paint protection films (PPF) help safeguard your vehicle’s paint from chips, scratches, and other damage caused by debris on the road, environmental elements, and regular wear and tear. By maintaining the pristine condition of the paint, PPF can prevent the need for costly paint repairs or touch-ups, which can detract from the vehicle’s value.
- Wait 48 hours after installation to wash your car.
- Remove insect or other stains as soon as possible with XPEL Film Cleaner.
- Stubborn stains can be removed with 99% isopropyl alcohol. Take care to keep these chemicals off the vehicle’s paint.
- Light scratches in the film will self-heal in 20-30 minutes at room temperature. In colder conditions, or to accelerate the process, pour warm water (120°F) over the affected area.
- Avoid using a pressure washer or high-pressure water source near the edges of the film, it can cause the film to lift and/or become damaged.
- Detailing Clay can be used to remove contaminants that are on the film
- Yes, having paint protection on your car can potentially raise the value of your vehicle.
- Vehicles with paint protection often command higher resale values compared to similar models without such protection. Buyers are willing to pay more for a vehicle that has been well-maintained and protected, as it may require less investment in cosmetic repairs and upkeep in the future.
- When selling or trading in your vehicle, you can use the presence of paint protection as a selling point to attract potential buyers or negotiate a higher trade-in value. Highlighting the added protection and enhanced appearance of the paint can help set your vehicle apart from others on the market.
- A car with well-maintained paint, thanks to paint protection, tends to look newer and more appealing to potential buyers. The glossy or satin finish of PPF can enhance the aesthetic appeal of the vehicle, giving it a showroom-like appearance. This can positively impact its perceived value in the eyes of buyers.
- Paint protection films are durable and long-lasting, providing extended protection for your vehicle’s paint over time. When buyers see that a vehicle has been well cared for and protected, they may be willing to pay a higher price for it, knowing that they are getting a car with preserved paint quality.
- Color change paint protection film (PPF) is a specialized type of protective film that not only shields a vehicle’s paint from damage but also alters its color or appearance. Unlike traditional PPF, which is transparent and primarily used to preserve the original paint color, color change PPF is designed to provide a customized look.
- Color change PPF is made from a durable, flexible vinyl material that is specially formulated to adhere to the vehicle’s surface and withstand exposure to various environmental elements.
- Similar to traditional PPF, color change PPF is applied to the exterior surfaces of the vehicle, including the hood, fenders, doors, roof, and other areas. Professional installers use precise cutting techniques to ensure a perfect fit and seamless finish.
- Color change PPF comes in a wide range of colors, finishes, and textures, allowing vehicle owners to customize the appearance of their cars according to their preferences. Common options include matte, satin, gloss, metallic, pearlescent, and textured finishes in various colors such as black, white, silver, blue, red, and more.
- In addition to changing the vehicle’s color or appearance, color change PPF provides the same protective benefits as traditional PPF. It helps safeguard the paint from chips, scratches, abrasions, UV damage, and other forms of wear and tear, preserving the vehicle’s finish and resale value.
- Color change PPF is designed to be removable without damaging the underlying paint. If the owner wishes to revert to the original paint color or apply a different color, the film can be safely removed by professionals without leaving residue or causing paint damage.
- Color change PPF offers vehicle owners a convenient and customizable way to enhance the appearance of their cars while providing long-lasting protection for the paint. It is often used for aesthetic purposes, such as creating a unique look, adding contrast accents, or refreshing the appearance of older vehicles.

This is one of the benefits of paint protection film. It is not a permanent application, but we recommend professional removal.
We recommend letting the paint cure for at least 30-60 days prior to installing paint protection film (depending on the paint process). Gases from the paint need to escape before being trapped between the surface of the vehicle and the film. If not fully cured, the film can discolor from the inside out and/or the adhesive on the film can fail from the paint gases.
Installations typically take a minimum of 2 days. This includes vehicle prep, film installation, and final review with quality control. However, the amount of coverage and level of installation difficulty will determine the installation time. So, the process could be longer. We do not rush the job – we take the time and care needed to have a great outcome.
The patterns are cut in-house on our plotting machines, using state-of-the-art technology. Once the excess material is removed, the areas to be covered are sprayed with installation fluid. Then, the kit is peeled away from a release liner and transferred to your car. The kit is moved into position atop the installation fluid to allow for proper alignment. Once the kit is positioned, a squeegee is used to extract the installation fluid which allows the paint protection film to adhere to the vehicle’s surface.
Yes, paint protection film can be custom-fitted to protect custom-painted or aftermarket parts of the vehicle. We encourage you to call us to verify that your after market part is attainable by one of our installers.
